A single uploaded page becomes your home page

A static upload with just one HTML page is served as the site root, whatever the file is called.

Until now, a static upload needed an index.html. If you uploaded a single page called landing.html, you had to rename it first.

Now, when the folder you serve holds exactly one HTML page, Unbroker serves it at / for you.

When we still ask for index.html

  • Several pages at the top level: nothing tells us which one is the home page.
  • A multi-page site: renaming one page would break links to it.
  • A lone page inside a subfolder: that’s a subpage, not the front door.

The upload dropzone follows the same rules, and a green check means the upload will be accepted.
