Comparison
Vercel alternative
Unbroker is a Vercel alternative when the workload is an API, a worker, or a service you want running next to a database, not only a frontend deployment. Vercel publishes a free Hobby plan for personal, non-commercial projects and a paid Pro plan for apps on its platform. Unbroker does not replace Vercel's CDN or preview workflow.
For a root virtual machine, see Linux cloud server hosting.

| Topic | Unbroker | Vercel |
|---|---|---|
| What the platform is for | Web apps, APIs, and workers as services, plus managed databases, volumes, and Linux servers on Pro. | Vercel is a frontend and full-stack deployment platform: Git deploys, preview deployments, and functions. It is not a Linux server you administer. |
| How long work can run | A service runs until you stop it or, on default Free, it pauses after days without qualifying traffic. Pro does not pause for inactivity. | Vercel documents a maximum duration for functions (300 seconds on Hobby, configurable higher on Pro). That is a different limit from an always-on service. |
| Plans | Free is $0: 1 project, up to 2 services, and 3 deploys per UTC day. Each service is capped at 250m CPU and 256 MiB, with 10 GB of outbound transfer a month. Free does not include persistent volumes, servers, managed databases, Beacon, Dockerfiles, or container images. Pro is $25 per month and includes $25 of usage credit for that billing cycle. The credit does not roll over. Usage above the credit is added to the invoice. Pro has unlimited members and no seat fee. | Vercel Hobby is $0 and is for personal, non-commercial use. Vercel Pro publishes a $20 per month platform fee with $20 of usage credit and one deploying seat. Additional deploying seats are billed separately. Viewer seats are not the same as deploying seats. |
| Databases | You can run a database image as a private Apps service, or provision a provider-operated managed cluster. The API supports PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Valkey, MongoDB, Kafka, and OpenSearch. The create flow shows which combinations the selected provider and region offer. Managed clusters require Pro, and recovery features depend on the engine and plan. | Vercel is not where this comparison places a provider-operated database cluster. If you need Postgres or MySQL as an Unbroker managed cluster, that is an Unbroker product, not a Vercel feature this page claims to match. |
Use Vercel for the edge, Unbroker for the service
A Next.js marketing site or a frontend that wants preview URLs on every push is the job Vercel describes. Unbroker can build a frontend from Git, but it does not publish Vercel's CDN, image pipeline, or skew protection, and this page does not pretend those are included.
An API process, a background worker, a volume, or a managed database is the job Unbroker describes. Function timeouts and seat-based Pro pricing are reasons a long-running service may fit Unbroker better, not proof that every Vercel app should move.
When to pick Vercel instead
- The product is a frontend, especially Next.js, and you want Vercel's preview, CDN, and function model.
- Hobby's personal-use terms match the project, and you do not need a Linux server or an Unbroker managed database.
- You already depend on Vercel features this page does not claim Unbroker has.
When to pick Unbroker instead
- You are deploying an API, a worker, and a database and want them as Unbroker resources on one Pro credit.
- You need a process that stays up, or a Linux server, rather than a function with a published duration cap.
Questions
Is Unbroker a Vercel alternative?
For a full-stack app that needs a running service and a database, it can be. For a frontend that depends on Vercel's edge network and previews, Vercel remains the closer fit.
Does Unbroker include Vercel's CDN?
No. Unbroker serves the services you deploy and can attach custom domains on Pro. It does not claim Vercel's CDN, image optimization, or edge middleware.
How do the paid plans differ?
Unbroker Pro is $25 per month with $25 of usage credit and no seat fee. Vercel Pro, as published on October 26, 2026, is $20 per month with $20 of usage credit and charges more for extra deploying seats. The resources those credits buy are not the same.
