Scheduled jobs, a terminal and pre-deploy commands
Run tasks on a schedule, open a shell into a running service, and run migrations before a release goes live.
Update, October 8, 2026: the interactive browser terminal has been removed. One-off commands and scheduled jobs remain available. See audited commands and the Jobs tab.
The new Jobs tab
Every service has a Jobs tab with:
- One-off command: run a command once, with your service’s image and variables.
- Scheduled jobs: give a job a name, a cron schedule, a command and a timezone. Each run’s output appears under Executions.
- Interactive terminal: open a shell into the running service from your browser.
Pre-deploy command
In Settings, a service can set a Pre-deploy command such as npm run db:migrate. It runs once from the new image before it goes live. Rollbacks don’t run it again, so keep migrations backward compatible.
