# Deploy n8n

Deploy n8n on Unbroker when you want to self-host n8n instead of using n8n Cloud. The template runs n8nio/n8n:2.44.1 on port 5678, with a private Postgres service and 1 GiB for n8n data and 1 GiB for Postgres. You operate that copy. It is not n8n's hosted product.

## Deployment inputs

- **TIMEZONE** (optional): Timezone schedule triggers run in, e.g. America/Argentina/Buenos_Aires.

## Questions

### Can I self-host n8n on Unbroker?

Yes. The template runs n8nio/n8n:2.44.1 on port 5678, with a private Postgres service and 1 GiB for n8n data and 1 GiB for Postgres. That is a self-hosted n8n service on your Unbroker account. n8n documents self-hosting separately from n8n Cloud: https://docs.n8n.io/hosting/.

### Is this template n8n Cloud?

No. The template starts the n8n container and a Postgres database on Unbroker. You administer that deployment. It does not create an account on n8n Cloud.

### What plan does a self-hosted n8n need?

Template container services, databases, and persistent volumes require Pro. Resource usage is billed separately. Review the service list and pricing before you deploy.

steps, and build AI agents on a visual canvas.

## What gets deployed

| Service | Image | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| **n8n** | `n8nio/n8n:2.44.1` | Public. Editor, webhooks and the API on one URL. 1 GiB volume for credentials files and community nodes |
| **db** | PostgreSQL 16 | Internal. Workflows, executions and users |

`N8N_ENCRYPTION_KEY` is generated for you. Every credential n8n stores is
encrypted with it, so **don't change or delete it**. If you lose it, the stored
credentials become unreadable.

## After deploy

1. Open the service URL. n8n asks you to create the **owner account**, and the
first person to open the URL gets it, so do this right away.
2. Webhook URLs already point at the public address (`WEBHOOK_URL`). If you
add a custom domain, update `WEBHOOK_URL` and `N8N_EDITOR_BASE_URL` to match.

## Notes

- Schedule and polling triggers run inside the n8n process, so keep the
service running if you rely on them.
- Large workflows can need more memory. Raise the limit in the service's
  **Scale** tab.

## Service configuration

- **db**: postgres. Private service. 1 GiB persistent storage.
- **n8n**: n8nio/n8n:2.44.1. Public URL. 1 GiB persistent storage.
