# Alerts and uptime checks from ubctl

Create metric alerts and HTTPS uptime checks, and read a service's logs and metrics, from the command line.

`ubctl` can now keep an eye on your services.

- **Metric alerts** watch CPU, memory, restarts or ready replicas against a threshold over a time window.
- **Uptime checks** call an HTTPS URL on your service or custom domain every minute.

You're notified when a check starts failing and again when it recovers.
